Jean Elsen sale 143, lot 1056

This specimen was lot 1056 in Jean Elsen sale 143 (Brussels, December 2019), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,567 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"TOURNAI, Seigneurie, Albert et Isabelle (1598-1621), AV double souverain, s.d. (1612-1621). D/ Les archiducs trônant de f., Albert ten. une épée et Isabelle ten. un sceptre. R/ Ecu couronné, entouré du collier de la Toison d'or. DOM· TORNA Z en fin de légende. Rogné et nettoyé. presque Très Beau. (lordship of Tournai, Albert and Isabella, 1598-1621, undated gold double souverain. Obverse: the archdukes enthroned facing, Albert holding a sword and Isabella holding a scepter; reverse: crowned arms, Order of the Golden Fleece around, DOM· TORNA Z at the end of the legend. Clipped and cleaned, about Very Fine.)"

This type is listed undated (KM 23.1, shown here) and dated (KM 23.2, 1612-20). The denomination was struck until 1657 with the portrait of Philip IV (KM 55).
