Switzerland 1872-B 5 rappen

This specimen was lot 5223 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND, 5 Rappen 1872 B, Bern. NGC MS62." This type was minted 1850-51 in Strasbourg, France, as the Helvetic Confederation was being organized. It is accompanied by billon ten and twenty rappen. It was later minted in Bern 1872-77 before being converted to copper-nickel in 1879.
