Sincona sale 83, lot 5228

This specimen was lot 5228 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$201 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND, 10 Rappen 1873 B, Bern. NGC MS64." This is a somewhat scarce date of a type issued 1850-51, 1871-76. The type is not rare but is seldom seen compared to the copper-nickel Helvetia type (KM 27) issued 1878-1980.

Recorded mintage: 1,398,000.

Specification: 2.37 g, billon, 19.23 mm diameter.
