This specimen was lot 76377 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. Rappen, 1872-B. Bern Mint. PCGS MS-65 Red Brown." This type was introduced in 1850 and struck without change until 1900. A similar subtype (KM 3.2) was struck 1902-41. The SCWC states the later variety has a slimmer cross and value but Numista states this change was implemented earlier, about 1891.
