Sincona sale 85, lot 1224

This specimen was lot 1224 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 550 CHF (about US$741 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Sultan Ahmad Shah, 1327-1344 AH (1909-1925). 1/5 Toman 1339 AH (1920/1921 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type with collar. Rare date and variety. NGC MS63. Magnificent condition. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 218. Finest certified by NGC."

This tiny gold coin was struck AH 1332-1343; this denomination was also minted in silver (KM 1057).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 0.57 g, 0.900 fine gold, this specimen 1.68 g (sic).
