Sincona sale 85, lot 1216

This specimen was lot 1216 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Sultan Ahmad Shah, 1327-1344 AH (1909-1925). 1/2 Toman 1339 AH (1920/1921 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type with collar. Saheb al-Zamam. Very rare. NGC MS63*. Magnificent condition. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 228. Bought from Stephen Album, Santa Rosa, 1992. Finest certified by NGC."

This type is listed for AH 1331-1343 (1912-24) with several dates valued at barely above bullion. Varieties exist with open or closed wreath on the reverse. This denomination was also minted in silver (KM 1058).
