This specimen was lot 1227 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 4,250 CHF (about US$5,723 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN, Sultan Ahmad Shah, 1327-1344 AH (1909-1925). 5000 Dinars 1334 AH (1915/1916 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type. Mule with reverse of 10 Tomans. Very rare. NGC AU58. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 274. Bought from A. Saeedi, London, 1996. Finest certified by NGC."
This denomination was also struck in gold (KM 1071).
