Sincona sale 76, lot 1431

This specimen was lot 1431 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 6,500 CHF (about US$7,890 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Leopold I. 1657-1705. Dukat 1694, Breslau. Mit der Signatur MMW (Martin Maximilian von Wackerl, Münzmeister in Breslau, 1692-1699). Selten. Vorzüglich-FDC. NGC UNC Details. Vorderseite leicht gereinigt. (Austria, Leopold I, 1657-1705, ducat of 1694, Breslau mint, mintmaster's initials "MMW". Rare, Extremely fine-uncirculated, Obverse slightly cleaned.)"

This type was struck in Breslau, then under Austrian rule, 1692-98. The bishop of Breslau also issued his own coins.
