This specimen was lot 289 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €15,000 (about US$19,460 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"WÜRTTEMBERG-OELS, HERZOGTUM, Christian Ulrich, 1672-1704. Dukat o. J. (1700), Oels, auf seine Vermählung mit Prinzessin Sophia von Mecklenburg. GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Hübsche Goldpatina, min. gewellt, sehr schön +. Exemplar der westfälischen Privatsammlung „Mehrfachportraits auf Münzen und Medaillen". (Germany, duchy of Wurttemberg-Oels, Christian Ulrich, 1672-1704, undated ducat, circa 1700, Oels mint, on his marriage to Princess Sophia of Mecklenburg. Extremely rare, handsome ogld patina, slightly wavy, very fine or better.)"
Silesia was under Austrian rule until the 1740's. The duchy of Oels, formerly one of the Munsterberg estates, fell to a junior branch of the dukes of Württemberg in 1647 and was ruled by them until the whole region was conquered by Frederick the Great of Prussia during the War of the Austrian Succession.
