Russia 1856-SP FB 5 kopeks
This specimen was lot 4344 in Stack's-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $164.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 5 Kopek, 1856-CNBOB. NGC MS-64." This type was struck 1832-58 in large quantities but is today seldom seen in nice condition. In 1860 the coin was lowered to 0.750 fine and then in 1867 lowered to 0.9 g, 0.500 fine. Copper five kopeks are also known for many dates.
