This specimen was lot 34551 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $930. The catalog description[1] noted, "Russia: Alexander II Rouble 1856 CПБ-ФБ MS61 PCGS, St. Petersburg mint, Deeply toned in shades of blue-gray, silver, and gold." This type was struck 1832-58 in large quantities but is today very rare in nice condition.

Recorded mintage: 1,388,000, including an 1856/5 overdate. Proofs exist.

Specification: 20.73 g, 0.868 fine silver.
