Sincona sale 85, lot 1222

This specimen was lot 1222 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$269 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Sultan Ahmad Shah, 1327-1344 AH (1909-1925). 1/5 Toman 1334 AH (1915/1916 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type. NGC MS62. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 217."

This type was struck AH 1332-43. This denomination was also struck in silver (KM 1057).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 0.57 g, 0.900 fine gold, 14 mm diameter, this specimen 0.64 g.
