This specimen was lot 72621 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2023), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Rupee, 1910-(C). Calcutta Mint. Edward VII. PCGS MS-63. A most pleasing Choice example, this exemplary specimen yields rich details and a soft brilliance that emanates throughout the flan." The rupees of Edward VII were struck 1903-10 and most dates are common. Proofs are rare. The Bombay mint contributed another 10,885,000.
