This specimen was lot 941 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH INDIA: Edward VII, 1901-1910, AR rupee, 1909(b), Bombay mint, original proof striking, rare as such, uneven but pleasing toning, PCGS graded Proof 62." The rupees of Edward VII were struck 1903-10 and most dates are common. Proofs are rare.
Recorded mintage: 9,539,000 plus proofs and restrikes, a common date for the type.
Specification: 11.66 g, 0.917 fine silver, 0.343 troy oz ASW.
