Sincona sale 19, lot 852

This specimen was lot 852 in Sincona sale 19 (Zurich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 3,000 (about US$3,760 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "10 Kopecks 1878, St. Petersburg Mint, HФ. Prooflike brilliant uncirculated." This type of 1867-1900 is common. It is reduced in weight and fineness from the type of 1860-66.

Recorded mintage: 6,920,000 (both assayers).

Specification: 1.80 g, 0.500 fine silver, this specimen 1.70 g.
