Sincona sale 19, lot 851

This specimen was lot 851 in Sincona sale 19 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 350 (about US$439 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "20 Kopecks 1878, St. Petersburg Mint, HФ. Old pencil marks. Choice brilliant uncirculated." This type of 1867-93 is common. It is reduced in weight and fineness from the type of 1860-66.

Recorded mintage: 25,335,000 (both assayers).

Specification: 3.60 g, 0.500 fine silver, this specimen 3.51 g.
