This specimen was lot 32218 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "Russia: Elizabeth I Rouble 1757 MMД-MБ AU58 NGC, Red mint. Obv. Draped bust of Elizabeth I right. Rev. Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle with orb and scepter. A hint of golden patina covers surfaces displaying bright mint luster. Only light rubbing is noticeable on the high points, with a very few light contact marks. A very rare issue in higher grades and this is the nicest example we have seen." This type, issued 1754-57 from St. Petersburg and 1751-58 from Moscow, varied from the prior type by the addition of the assayer's initials. The rubles of Peter II were about 28 grams but this type seems to be only 26 grams.

Recorded mintage: 339,000.

Specification: 25.85 g, .802 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM-C19c.1, Diakov-423, Petrov 5 Roubles, Dav-1678.
