This specimen was lot 1245 in Sincona sale 85 (Zurich, October 2023), where it sold for 225 CHF (about US$303 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN, Sultan Ahmad Shah, 1327-1344 AH (1909-1925). 50 Dinars 1337 AH (1918/1919 AD), Tehran Mint. Copper-Nickel. NGC MS64. Magnificent condition. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 290. Finest certified by NGC."
The SCWC lists this type for AH 1318, 1319, 1321, 1326, 1332 and 1337, the latter three dates being struck after the death of Muzaffar al-Din Shah. This was the second smallest denomination struck during the reign of Ahmad Shah.
Recorded mintage: 6,500,000.
