This specimen was lot 23529 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Polushka (1/4 Kopek), 1850-BM. Warsaw Mint. PCGS MS-63 RB. Significant mint red remains over the surfaces with designs that are bold due to strong strike. A SCARCE date, with the last certified example to appear at auction, a PCGS-graded AU-55, bringing 1,400 Polish Zloty hammer (approximately $400 hammer) in a March 2018 sale in Poland." This type was struck 1850-55 at Ekaterinburg (mintmark EM) and also Warsaw (shown here) 1850-53.
