This specimen was lot 2235 in Goldberg's NY International sale 59 (New York, January 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "3 Kopecks 1916. Authenticated and graded by NGC MS 63 BN (# 4829888-017). Brown with orange-red highlights. Choice uncirculated." This type was struck 1915-17 during World War One as the Czarist regime started to come apart. It varied from the previous 3 kopeks (KM Y11.2) by the absence of a mintmark.
