Ponterio sale 159, lot 8142

This specimen was lot 8142 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $402.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Guadalajara. 1/2 Real, 1846-GaJG. NGC MS-65." This specimen was struck at the Guadalajara mint in 1846, one of a type struck there 1825-62. Assayer MC also is listed for 1846.
