Basel 1765-H 1/2 thaler
This specimen was lot 3099 in Sincona sale 64 (Zurich, June 2020), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$313 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND | Basel | Stadt und Kanton, Halbtaler 1765, Basel. Münzzeichen H unter der Wertangabe. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (city and canton of Basel, half thaler of 1765, Basel mint, mintmaster initial H. Very fine-extremely fine.)"
The second specimen was lot 4069 in Sincona sale 95 (Zurich, October 2024), where it sold for 525 CHF (about US$ including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Basel, Stadt und Kanton, Halbtaler 1765, Basel. Wertangabe in Lorbeerkranz, unten Jahreszahl und darüber kleines H (Handmann). Rv. Basilisk nach links, hält ein verziertes Wappen. Kettenrand. Gutes vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Basel, half thaler of 1765, Basel mint, Value in laurel wreath, year below and small H above wreath. About Uncirculated.)"
This issue also comes without the "H" mintmark.

Specification: silver, the first specimen 11.59 g, the second specimen 11.77 g.
