Sincona sale 47, lot 2555

This specimen was lot 2555 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 225 CHF (about US$270 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Basel, Stadt und Kanton Basel, Batzen 1763. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC. (city and canton of Basel, batzen of 1763. Rare in this condition, About uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1763-65 by the city and is fairly common.
