Sincona sale 47, lot 2558

This specimen was lot 2558 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 180 CHF (about US$216 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Basel, Stadt und Kanton Basel, 3 Batzen 1764. Gutes vorzüglich. (city and canton of Basel, three batzen of 1764. Good extremely fine.)"

Thirty batzen made a convention thaler of 120 kreuzer. This type was also struck in 1765 and is listed as not expensive.
