This specimen was lot 20541 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $2,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. 60 Shillings, ND (1637-42). Edinburgh Mint; im: Thistle and в. Charles I. NGC VF-35. Third (Briot's) coinage. Obverse: King, holding sword, riding horse left; Reverse: Crowned and garnished coat-of-arms. A few small, typical planchet flaws are noted, as well as some central weakness, but this great crown-sized issue features full rims and even gray toning throughout." The exchange rate between Scottish and English coinage varied but by act of James I, 60 shillings = one English crown.
