from Heritage sale 3114, lot 33835
H3114-33835r.jpg

This specimen was lot 33835 in Heritage sale 3114 (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $1,020. The lot description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Utrecht. Provincial silver 1/2 Ducat (24 Stuiver) 1764 MS64 NGC. Cabled edge. A delightful silver minor with admirably brilliant surfaces facing up mostly untoned except for touches of russet and petroleum blue hugging the peripheries. Admitting central adjustment marks to reverse, otherwise the fields are remarkably serene with only minor wisps that do not detract when viewed in hand. From the Coenen Collection." This type was struck 1761-76 and 1781-83. Despite the limited years of issue, it is not rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 14.12 g, 0.873 fine silver, cabled edge.

Catalog reference: KM 116, Delm-1006.
