Sincona sale 97, lot 1938

This specimen was lot 1938 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 4,000 CHF (about US$5,802 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Rudolf II. 1576-1612. Dukat 1590/89, Prag. Die Jahreszahl im Stempel von 1589 geändert. Münzmeister Lazar Erker. Selten. Vorzüglich. Kleine Kratzer, sonst überdurchschnittliche Erhaltung. (Holy Roman Empire, Rudolf II, 1576-1612, ducat of 1590, Prague mint, 1590/89 overdate. Rare, Extremely Fine, Small scratches, otherwise extraordinary condition.)"
