Struck in bell metal. With stops after date and denomination. Attractive with much remaining luster. From the Demarete Collection." This type was struck 1814-15 while Strasbourg was besieged by the Allies after the battle of Leipzig. This denominaton is also known with a crowned "L" for Louis XVIII.
