This specimen was lot 50027 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $471. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. Sovereign, 1922-P. NGC MS-62." This date, from a type struck 1911-28 at Perth (shown here), Melbourne and Sydney, is common.
Recorded mintage: 2,298,000.
Specification: 7.98 g, 0.917 fine gold.
