This specimen was lot 20202 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $2,530. The catalog description[1] noted, "Leopold the Hogmouth Taler 1698 Hall, MS64 NGC, razor sharp design details and full mint luster, a very attractive example of this ever popular Taler. Probable 8/7 overdate." This type was struck at the Hall mint 1694-1700 and at Graz in 1698. It is fairly common but not in this condition. It seems unlikely that the emperor was ever called "the Hogmouth" to his face.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: KM 1303.4, Dav-3245.
