Künker sale 406, lot 4574

This specimen was lot 4574 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €600 (about US$787 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Leopold I. 1657-1705. Reichstaler 1699, Wien. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung AU 55 (6643509-003). Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich. (Austria, Leopold I, 1657-1705, thaler of 1699, Vienna mint. Graded NGC AU-55, handsome patina, extremely fine.)"

This type was struck at Vienna 1696-1700. It is fairly common.
