Dietrichstein 1695 thaler Dav-3376
This specimen was lot 5334 in Sincona sale 4 (Zürich, October 2011), where it sold for 1,050 CHF (about US$1,397 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ÖSTERREICH Dietrichstein, Fürstentum Ferdinand Josef, 1655-1698. Taler 1695. Brustbild mit grosser Perücke nach rechts. Rv. Wappen auf gekrönter, verzierter und von der Vliesordenskette umgebener Wappenkartusche. Lt. ger. Vorzüglich. (Austria, Principality of Dietrichstein, Ferdinand Joseph, 1655-98, thaler of 1698. Obverse: peruked bust to right; reverse: Crowned and quartered arms, Order of the Golden Fleece around. Extremely fine.)"
The emperor occasionally permitted certain favored aristocrats to strike their own coins; this is one. The SCWC lists this one year type as scarce but not rare.
