This specimen was lot 7219 in Ponterio sale 152 (New York, January 2010), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Toman, AH 1299 (1881/2). Tehran Mint. A few light marks. This type was struck AH 1297-1312 during the reign of Nasir al-din Shah (r. 1848-96). Gold two, ten and 25 tomans also exist. The coin is priced cheaply in the SCWC but is seldom seen.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 2.87 g, 0.900 fine gold, .099 troy oz AGW.
