Iran AH 1298 toman
This specimen was lot 1024 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 1,400 CHF (about US$1,885 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN, Nasir al-Din Shah, 1264-1313 AH (1848-1896). 1 Toman 1298 AH (1881 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type. Very rare date. NGC MS61. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 24. Bought from Credit Suisse Zürich, 1983. Finest certified by NGC."
With the coming of the milled coinage, all of the branch mints were closed and all production was completed in Tehran. One thousand dinars made a kran and ten kran made a toman. The SCWC lists this for AH 1297-1313.
