Sincona sale 67, lot 4150

This specimen was lot 4150 in Sincona sale 67 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 275 CHF (about US$362 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN | Qajar Dynasty | Nâsir al-dîn Shâh, 1264-1313 H./1848-1896 AD, Machine struck coinage, always with the mint name Tihrân, gold coins and patterns for gold coins. Toman 1297 H. Bust half left with accession and minting dates to the sides, rev. title and name in wreath with mint below. About extremely fine"

This type was struck AH AH 1297-1313 and this is a common date. One toman equalled ten kran or ten thousand dinars. With the coming of the milled coinage, all of the branch mints were closed and all production was completed in Tehran.
