This specimen was lot 1273 in Stephen Album sale 45 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2023), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN: Nasir al-Din Shah, 1848-1896, AV toman, Tehran, AH1297, lustrous About Unc, R." This scarce type lacks the obverse legend seen on later issues (Fr-62). It was struck AH 1297 only.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
