Ponterio sale 168, lot 50129

This specimen was lot 50129 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $470. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Prussia. 20 Mark, 1914-A. NGC MS-65." This type, issued 1913-15, is common and is a product of the Berlin mint (mintmark "A"). It was accompanied by silver two, three and five mark pieces.

Recorded mintage: 2,137,000.

Specification: 7.96 g, .900 fine gold, .230 troy oz AGW.
