This specimen was lot 30576 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $8,518.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Paul I Poltina (1/2 Rouble) 1799 CM-MБ MS61 PCGS, St. Petersburg mint. Obv. Cruciform crowned Imperial monogram with the date. Rev. Four-line legend in garnished tablet. Full mint brilliance, with a frosty reverse and a prooflike obverse. The obverse has noticeable adjustment marks, or the grade would be considerably higher than MS61." This poltina or half ruble was struck in this style 1798-1800. Like the other poltinas of the eighteenth century, it is scarce.

Reported Mintage: 348,000 (including assayer ФЦ).

Specification: 10.37 g, 0.868 fine silver.
