Sincona sale 99, lot 117

This specimen was lot 117 in Sincona Auction 99 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$452 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSLAND Kaiserreich und Föderation, Paul I. 1796-1801, 10 Kopecks 1799, Mints in St. Petersburg, SM MB. Sehr schön. Schrötlingsfehler auf Revers. (empire of Russia, Paul I, 1796-1801, ten kopeks of 1799, St. Petersburg mint. 1 rouble according to Petrov. Very Fine, Flan flaws on reverse.)"

This rather scarce type was struck 1798-99 and 1801.

Recorded mintage: 680,000.

Specification: 2.07 g, 0.868 fine silver, 17 mm diameter, diagonally reeded edge, this specimen 1.94 g.
