Steve Album Auction 52, lot 2617

This specimen was lot 2617 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $42. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY: Weimar Republic, AE 2 rentenpfennig, Berlin, 1923-A, a superb lustrous mint state example! PCGS graded MS65 RB." The rentenmark and its subdivision the rentenpfennig were used 1923-24. Many issues minted during that time are today rare altho this type is common. It was superseded by a two reichspfennig struck 1924-25 and 1936 (KM 38).

Recorded mintage: 8,587,390.

Specification: 3.3 g, bronze, 20 mm diameter, plain edge.
