This specimen was lot 31175 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Holy Roman Empire. Ducat, 1740. Vienna Mint. Karl VI. NGC VF-35. Exhibiting only honest wear, this wholesome gold denomination provides even yellow hues throughout." This type was struck 1713-21, 1726-31, 1735-40 and is probably the most common ducat of Karl VI. Other ducats were struck at Hall (Fr-378), Graz (Fr-377), Breslau (Fr-376), Prague (Fr-47c), Kremnitz (Fr-171) and Nagybánya (Fr-175).
