This specimen was lot 5324 in Sincona sale 80 (Zurich, October 2022), where it sold for 4,750 CHF (about US$5,693 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND | Zurich | Stadt und Kanton, Doppeldukat 1727, Zürich. Very rare. About extremely fine." This scarce type was struck 1718-67 along with quarter (Fr-488a), half (Fr-487a) and single ducats (Fr-486a). In 1798, the canton of Zurich was forcibly incorporated into the Helvetic Republic.
