This specimen was part of lot 3498 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), which sold for €240 (about US$334 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/3 Reichstaler preuß. ...b) 1/3 Reichstaler preuß. 1777 B, Breslau. Greisenantlitz. Erworben am 13.9.1984. 2 Stück., Sehr schön und fast vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one third thaler of 1777, Breslau mint, old head. [One of] two pieces, about extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1774-86 at Berlin, Breslau and Konigsberg. This superseded KM 303 of 1764-74 which featured a youthful bust of the king.
