This specimen was lot 3245 in Sincona sale 64 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 375 CHF (about US$470 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND | Freiburg/Fribourg | Stadt und Kanton, 5 Batzen 1811, Freiburg. Mit Schnurrand. FDC. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (city and canton of Fribourg, five batzen of 1811, Fribourg mint. Uncirculated, Magnificent condition.)"
This somewhat scarce type was struck 1811 and 1814 only. Half, one and ten batzen were also struck in 1811. Forty batzen made a thaler. The last cantonal issue was a 2½ rappen of 1846 (KM 91).
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 4.50 g, silver, 24.5 mm diameter, reeded edge, this specimen 4.45 g.
