Stack's Bowers 2025 ANA sale, lot 47646

This specimen was lot 47646 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. Sharjah. 10 Riyals, AH 1389/1970. Karlsruhe Mint. Khalid bin Muhammad al-Qasimi. PCGS PROOF-68 Deep Cameo. Struck to commemorate Simon Bolivar." The total coinage of this state, now part of the United Arab Emirates, comprises one set of NCLT's issued in 1970, including this one honoring Simon Bolivar, who is not known to have ever visited the Middle East. The sheikh was assassinated in 1972, aged 40 years.

Recorded mintage: 3,200.

Specifications: 30 g, 0.999 fine silver, 44 mm diameter.
