This specimen was lot 30839 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $3,525. The catalog description[1] noted, "Saxony. Friedrich August II gold Ducat 1741 MS63 NGC, Dresden mint. Featuring Friedrich August II--the Duke of Saxony and King of Poland--atop horseback, surrounded by coppery color that drips from the design elements. This particular issue was struck for the Vicariate, and will likely garner much attention from collectors since it is rarely offered finer." This type was issued 1741-42. It is expensive but less so than the regular issue of 1735-63 (KM 887).
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW.
Catalog reference: KM 908, Fr-2865.
