This specimen was lot 2489 in Goldberg sale 98 (Los Angeles, June 2017), where it sold for $823. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Two Pounds, 1995. 50th Anniversary- United Nations. Flags. In original case of issue. Choice Brilliant Proof." This commemorative honoring the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations is another in an extensive series of NCLT's struck in multiple metals for the elite and the common herd.

Recorded mintage: 6,057,000 (bimetallic, including KM-970) plus 100,000 proofs plus est. 175,000 in silver and 17,500 in gold.

Specification: KM 971: 15.98 g, nickel brass, 28.4 mm diameter; KM 971a: 15.98 g, 0.925 fine silver; KM 971b: 15.98 g, 0.917 fine gold.
