This specimen was lot 30538 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $4,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "Edward VII 25 Cents 1904 MS64 NGC, Ottawa mint. One of the most difficult dates within this Edwardian denomination, and one which is scarcely encountered in grades of mint state. Exceedingly attractive, with a light tone around the devices and a supremely brilliant underlying luster. The fields are nearly flawless, with a few light marks in front the forehead being the only noticeable blemishes." This type was struck 1902-1910 at the London and Heaton mints. This date is very scarce. All the dates are rare in high grade.

Recorded mintage: 400,000.

Specification: 5.81 g, 0.925 fine silver, .173 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.

Catalog reference: KM 11.
