Rigsdaler, 1855. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik VII. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details." This type was struck 1854-55 at Copenhagen (VS) and Altona (FF). The coinage was reformed again in 1874 to a fully decimal system and this denomination was dropped.

This specimen was lot 56085 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Rigsdaler, 1855-FK VS. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik VII. PCGS AU-58." This type was struck 1854-55 at Copenhagen (VS) and Altona (FF). The coinage was reformed again in 1874 to a fully decimal system and this denomination was dropped.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a better date.

Specification: 14.44 g, 0.875 fine silver, 30.5 mm diameter.
