This specimen was lot 192 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $3,630. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Frederik VII. 1848-1863. AR 2 Rigsdaler. Altona mint. Iohann Friederich Freund, mintmaster; Frederik Christopher Krohn, engraver. Dated 1854 FK FF. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 64. Very choice uncirculated with moderate multicolored iridescent lustrous surfaces. Highest ever graded for this type. Fantastic coin. Purchased from M. Louis Teller, April 1975." This type is listed for 1854-56. In 1874, the coinage was reformed again to the current system of 100 øre = one krone.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
